ENGR 1050, Introduction to Engineering

1050 Students

This 2 hour course is designed to educate students about engineering & construction management careers. ENGR 1050 offers an introduction into engineering design, study skills seminars, career development, and information on the various types of engineering.

  • Only offered in the Fall semester.
  • Students are assigned to teams based on random selection
  • Each team is assigned a peer mentor
  • Class project: The American Society of Engineering Educators national design competition for freshmen
  • Students have the opportunity to, through independent study, to prototype their design robot and participate in the ASEE summer competition.
